In August of 2009, we noticed that over 95% of our customers wanted the taps and skids attached to the Jazz Tap Master shoes.  So we offered the shoes with taps and skids attached as a service to save customers both time and money.  We worked with a local shoe repair in our center to equip the shoes with taps and skids so that our customers would not have to wait for their shoes to be ready to tap.  This service has saved many customers both time and money.  Many of them have expressed their appreciation for it.

Of the numerous pairs of shoes that we have sold "Ready to Dance" we have had a few returned with screws that have loosened or stripped after many hours of wear. We have paid for all of the cost of the repairs up to this point.  Although it is not unusual for taps to loosen or screws to come out of any tap shoe after heavy usage, the resulting complaints have led us to decide to let customers deal with their own tap and skid installation.  In short, we will take care of selling shoes and leave the modification of the shoes to others.

While supplies last, we will be selling out of the Jazz Tap Master shoes (that have been modified with taps and skids attached).  If the taps or skids come loose within 30 days of the purchase of the shoes, take them to Zeigler's Shoe Repair to see if they qualify for a free repair.  We do not consider a loose, stripped or dislodged screw or skids to be a defect of the shoe and therefore would not qualify for replacement or refund of the price of the shoe.  It is the nature of tap dancing that taps will loosen and screws will come out of the shoe over time.  

From now on, the Jazz Tap Master shoe will be sold without anything attached to the soles.  Taps that will fit the size of the Jazz Tap Master shoes purchased will be sold separately.  Our price for the Jazz Tap Master without taps and skids is $196.88.  We arrived at that price by looking at the Miller & Bens on line price which is $183 + $16 freight = $199.00.  We also include a free shoe horn with each purchase (they do not). The most obvious advantage to the customer is that they get to try on the shoe and take it with them if they are pleased with the shoe.

The Jazz Tap Master with taps and skids attached is priced at $239.88 while supplies last.  Below is the charge for the same shoe if purchased on line.  Miller and Bens offer to add taps but not skids.
